The user manual for instructional videos was produced as part of the WOCAT – IFAD project ‘Transferring Knowledge from Land User to Land User through Audio-Visual Messages – Exploring the Potential of Instructional Videos’. Alongside the written document five prototypes of instructional videos were produced.
The user manual consists of two volumes: Volume one, background research, is a review of existing theories, concepts, methods and projects using audio-visuals/video for knowledge sharing in a development context. It also looks at the use of video in education and rural development as well as the advantages and disadvantages of using audio-visual materials. Volume two, user manual, describes the concept of the instructional videos and the practical steps to implement instructional videos including templates for storyboards and interviews. Information on post-production and technical specifications is added at the end of the user manual.

Please note: The user manual is a work in progress and still needs additional improvements. Further testing and application are welcome!
